Our 60th birthday celebrations included a Baroque Concert with the 'Musical and Amicable Society' orchestra and soloists William Towers, Timothy Kenworthy-Brown, Colin Campbell and Samantha Binnie. Also performed were Rutter's 'Magnificat' and Karl Jenkins' 'The Armed Man'.
The choir enjoys a collaboration with La Chorale Arioso which is based in Caen, France and with the Strohgau-Sinfonieorchester, based in Schwieberdingen, Germany with joint concerts alternating between venues in France and Coventry. In 2005 it was our turn to host a concert when our friends from France and Germany joined us in Coventry to perform Mendelssohn's 'Psalm 115' and Stanford's 'Stabat Mater' with Soprano Mary Plazas. Coventry Philharmonic Society was formed in 1943 and has been producing major concerts every year since then. The Society provides choirs for weddings, special occasions and charity fund-raising events.
The
choir has over a 100 members and is going through a period of rejuvenation
under the direction of Steven Russell.
New and younger members are being welcomed into the choir. (Like to
join us?)

We promote local musicians, and engage internationally renowned soloists and ensembles in stimulating programmes.
Coventry Philharmonic Choir is proud of its charitable status, traditions and heritage. It is committed to fulfilling its constitutional aims by providing performing and listening opportunities for the City of Coventry.
